Wonderful Tunes Provided By Friends. Wild Tangents Provided By Me.

NOTE: The talk of Van Nuys Blvd stems from a comment that Q made.

“Lullaby of Birdland” is one of my personal favorite tunes. The song was written in 1952 and it refers to Charlie “Bird” Parker and the Birdland Jazz Club which used to be located on 52nd street in Manhattan. It closed in 1965 but most of the greats performed there. I can only imagine what it must have been like to go! There still is a Birdland club in Manhattan but it’s on 44th St now. Going there is most definitely on my Life To-Do List.

I have a seriously impaired sense of direction. Driving anywhere with me can get pretty darn entertaining without a very capable navigator. (yay GPS) I have a seriously impaired sense of direction. (yay GPS) I do clearly remember there was something important about the intersection of Victory and Van Nuys Blvd but I have no idea what it was. Was it a bus stop? A cool place to shop? The place where I had to turn in order to get to my friend’s house? Yeah… no idea. Anyway,Van Nuys Bl rules!
