Wonderful Tunes Provided By Friends. Wild Tangents Provided By Me.

Another genius pairing that I had no idea existed! These 1952 recordings were made as part of the Jazz At The Philharmonic (JATP) series produced by Norman Granz. They are recorded live shows. Most critics say the nice thing about this collection is that it gives Fred a chance to experiment with vocals more that he could in his movies. I love both Fred Astaire and Oscar Peterson.

So how was everyone’s Thanksgiving? Mine was great! Apart from the 7 or 8 horrible stepmonster years, pretty much all my Thanksgivings have been great. I come from a family of hard core nerds so sci fi was discussed, karaoke was sung… badly, and relatives who do math for fun were publicly mocked and secretly envied. A spendid time was had by all.
