Lambert, Hendricks and Ross formed their jazz vocal group 1957. Jon Hendricks wrote witty lyrics to jazz standards, Dave Lambert made brilliant arrangements, and Annie Ross added first class vocals. They have been credited with creating the vocalese style of singing which was later used by The Manhattan Transfer. Here they are singing “Halloween Spooks.”

Happy Halloween everyone! I won’t write much because we’ve had a busy day and night and I’ve still got to go and do the parental candy check to make sure all the goodies are delicious… I mean SAFE!
