Wonderful Tunes Provided By Friends. Wild Tangents Provided By Me.

Peggy Lee wrote the song “It’s A Good Day” in 1947 with her then husband guitarist Dave Barbour who is also featured in this video. Dave had a bit of trouble “throwing away the pills” apparently and his addiction caused a fair amount of strife in their relationship. They were married for 8 years which was the longest of Peggy’s four marriages.

We here at House Beautiful would find it very difficult to take a deep breath if we threw away our pills! The Beautiful Girl has gnarly allergies in the fall so she’ll be hopped up on antihistamines until mid December. I am fighting a bit of a head cold so I am popping Quils both Day and Ny. With all the drugs we’re doing around here it’s a shame we don’t live in a valley. “Cornfield Of The Dolls” really doesn’t pack the same punch.
