Wonderful Tunes Provided By Friends. Wild Tangents Provided By Me.

On Saturday a gunman opened fire in a crowded Arizona supermarket.  He wounded his intended victim Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and twelve other people. He killed 9-year-old Christina Greene, 30-year-old Gifford aide Gabe Zimmerman, 63-year old U.S. District Judge John Roll, 76-year-old Dorthy Murray, 76-year-old Dorwin Stoddard, and 79-year-old Phyllis Scheck. All over the internet there are thoughts, feelings, opinions, and rants about the implications of this tragedy. I have a head full of them myself but there are other places for me to share that. Right here, in this space, let us just listen to a beautiful piece of music and remember the people we lost yesterday. Here’s Miles Davis and Bill Evans with “Blue In Green.”

To the families, friends and loved ones of the victims I send hope that your strength will sustain you during the coming media storm and I pray that, eventually, you will find some kind of peace. RIP
