Singin’ In The Bathtub

And now for some more cartoon music appreciation. “Singin’ In The Bathtub” was published in 1929 and it made its first cartoon appearance in 1930’s “Sinkin’ In The Bathtub.” The song appears in more than 20 Warner Bros cartoons. Wikipedia says Tweety Bird sang it more than any other character.

This version is sung by Winnie Lightner who was an international movie star in the 20’s and 30’s. I was unfamiliar with her work but I love her instantly!

I just love the swim wear of our ancestors. Thunder thighs, saddle bags and cellulite be damned, in the olden days everyone was Sports Illustrated cover model HOT!
