I think this is a clip from the 1959 TV special “Bing Crosby And Dean Martin Present High Hopes.” The song is “Together (Wherever We Go)” from the musical “Gypsy.” Charley Weaver, who is mentioned in the song, was a character played by comedian Cliff Arquette.
Remember a few days ago I mentioned that I just HAD to learn to play the recorder? Well I decided that, since I never learned to play an instrument when I was a kid, the Beautiful Girl just HAS to learn to play the recorder too. In other words, we’re doing it “together!” (See what I did there?) It’s an extremely cheap way to introduce the girl to some basic music concepts but that’s just the icing on the cake. More importantly, I get to lovingly heap just a bit more of my personal baggage onto my kiddo. That way, when the inevitable need for therapy arises, she can work out my issues as well as her own. It just makes more sense from a time and money management standpoint. After all, being dysfunctional is no excuse for being inefficient!
