This is from a Carol Burnett special called “Carol +2.” According to Wikipedia, there were actually two Carol + 2 specials, one in 1966 and the other in 1967. This particular special aired in ’66 (says IMDB). Lucy and Carol met when Carol was a guest on “The Lucy Show” and they stayed good friends for the rest of Lucy’s life. Legend has it that Carol woke up on her birthday to the news that Lucy had passed away. Later that day the birthday flowers that Lucy arranged arrived with a note that said “Happy Birthday Kid.” I think their chemistry is obvious in this clip.
My fatherless African-American child, who I’m told would have been better off if she had been born into slavery apparently, can both pronounce and define this word perfectly. Sorry folks, she’s not quite old enough to be president… yet.
